Short stories written by a girl in pink.

Ghost.

You were here. You used to be. There is nowhere where you are now. You’ve lost your physicality. The ground you tread upon is silent. The warmth your presence used to fill me with, has evaporated. Only traces in the form of scars and my memories are what remain of your previous existence.

A thing of the past.
A shadow.
A ghost.

Oscar.

It’s kind of like… I’m Leonardo and you’re the Oscar.

Great fall.

As I fell from the sky, down to the Earth, I wondered if you would be there, waiting for me, arms wide open, ready to catch me. Ready to cushion the blow.

Whistling.

He whistled a tune and I listened. And long after he had gone, the melody still rang in my ears, as if the seat beside me wasn’t empty at all.

Zombie dance party.

Six feet below the earth, there’s a party going on. Not everyone’s invited. Lie down in the street, press your ear to the ground. You might hear the rattling of bones, the incoherent shuffling of feet and the occasional thump of a limb falling off. They sure sound like they’re having fun.

Scarecrow.

He stands up high on his pole, looking out over the fields of corn. The sun is setting, the family’s inside, sitting around the dinner table. He sighs deeply. A flock of birds crosses the sky and lands at his feet. Finally, someone he can talk to. He lifts an arm and waves. The birds screech and flutter away in panic. He watches them disappear into the woods.

It’s a lonely existence.

White dress.

white dress, white dress,
you walk all alone
it seems like you’re lost
are you going home?

white dress, white dress,
you seem a bit sad
you look like you just lost
everything you had

white dress, white dress,
what’d you say? he didn’t show?
and you were about to say yes
and he told you, no?

white dress, white dress,
you’ve got a broken heart
but don’t see it as the end,
see it as a new start

white dress, white dress,
you’re not a sad mess
you still look wonderful
in your beautiful white dress

Portmanteau.

Both words were happy they had found another word to share themselves with. And from that moment on, they knew they would never be apart again.
